Visvesvaraya Technological University ( VTU ) University has received many representations from the students admitted to B.E/ B.Tech. programme under Lateral Entry category, requesting to provide additional attempts to clear the Bridge Courses and enable them to complete the Degree. Based on these representations, the authorities of the University have recommended to grant Additional Two attempts to clear the Bridge Courses for award of the degree with the following conditions:
1. This benefit is applicable to the students admitted under Lateral Entry Scheme until! the academic year 2013-14.
2. These additional attempts are granted only for those students who have cleared all other subjects and have completed rest of the programme requirements except the bridge courses.
3. Examination Fees to be paid is Rs 2,000/- per subject for the students appearing for examinations under the benefit of this notification.
4. This benefit is not applicable to the those students, who have not completed the course in full and also to students who have backlog subjects others than bridge courses.
5. The details regarding the Examinations to be conducted in this regard will be notified by Registrar (Eval.), VTU, separately.
A separate notification about the schedule of examination and other details will be announced by the Registrar (Eval.) of the University at least 6 months in advance of the proposed date. This is applicable to autonomous colleges under this University. The students are advised to utilize this special benefit being extended by the University.
The Principals/Heads of Institutions are requested to instruct persons in their respective institutions, to be more vigilant while submitting the examination applications of the students covered under the scope of this notification. The contents of this notification shall be brought to the notice of all the concerned.
