@Rayah For B.Tech R16 students need to obtain >=186 credits in order to be eligible for B.Tech degree.
Case 1 : If JNTUH calculates CGPA credits for 192 credits then there wont be any difference in CGPA. [Final CGPA = 7.18]
1-1 : SGPA = 6.98 From 24 Credits
1-2 : SGPA = 7.23 From 24 Credits
2-1 : SGPA = 8.12 From 24 Credits
2-2 : SGPA = 6.62 From 24 Credits
3-1 : SGPA = 6.58 From 24 Credits
[Before Exemption]
3-2 : SGPA = 6.67 From 24 Credits
4-1 : SGPA = 7.12 From 24 Credits
4-2 : SGPA = 8.56 From 24 Credits
-----------------------------------------
Final CGPA = 1378.56/192 = 7.18
-----------------------------------------
Case 2 : If JNTUH calculates CGPA for best of 186 credits excluding 2 subjects credits in which you got least marks/credits or failed. So, by removing those 2 subjects while calculating the Final CGPA obviously it would increase the CGPA a bit.
Lets consider Student got following grades in 3-1 semester for CSE ==> O, O, O, B+, B, F, B+, F
| Theory/Lab | Grade Obtained | Credits |
|---|
| Lab 1 | O | 2 Credits |
| Lab 2 | O | 2 Credits |
| Lab 3 | O | 2 Credits |
| Subject 1 | B+ | 4 Credits |
| Subject 2 | B | 4 Credits |
| Subject 3 | F | 3 Credits [Fail] |
| Subject 4 | B+ | 4 Credits |
| Subject 5 | F | 3 Credits [Fail] |
Now he got failed in 2 subjects which carries 3 credits each in this semester. Now let excluding this while calculating final CGPA.
1-1 : SGPA = 6.98 From 24 Credits
1-2 : SGPA = 7.23 From 24 Credits
2-1 : SGPA = 8.12 From 24 Credits
2-2 : SGPA = 6.62 From 24 Credits
3-1 : SGPA = 8.78 From
18 Credits [After Exemption] 24-6 = 18 Credits i.e., leaving 2 subjects 3 credits each while calculating SGPA & CGPA]
3-2 : SGPA = 6.67 From 24 Credits
4-1 : SGPA = 7.12 From 24 Credits
4-2 : SGPA = 8.56 From 24 Credits
-----------------------------------------
Final CGPA = 1378.68/186 = 7.41
-----------------------------------------
So,
Before Exemption CGPA =
7.18
After Exemption CGPA =
7.41
Hope this solved your query.
You can check even with the previous R16 CMM & grades by manually calculating them.
