JNTU-Hyderabad ( JNTUH ) Withdrawal of the provision of registration for University Examinations with a late fee of Rs.10,000/-
JNTU-Hyderabad ( JNTUH ) Printing & Distribution of pre-printed booklets to all Host Centre requires End examinations registration window closure at least 2 weeks before the date of commencement of examinations. JNTUH, currently offering online examination registration window (either without late fee or with late fee upto Rs.5,000/-) until one week before the commencement of examinations. Further, JNTUH extended late registration with fine Rs.10,000/-, one day before the commencement of examinations, as per the Procds. (1) read above.
However, examination registration (with a late fee of Rs.10,000/-), one day prior to the commencement of examinations, disrupts the established examination logistics and causes considerable administrative inconvenience, thereby affecting the smooth functioning of DUEX. The major issues encountered are as follows:
1. The availability of the required question paper(s) for the subject(s) opted by the student has to be verified. In the absence of the required question paper(s), it becomes impossible to conduct the examination at such short notice.
2. Where the required question paper(s) are available, DUEX has to manually allot the examination centre and issue the Hall Ticket at the last minute.
3. The host examination centre has to be informed at short notice to arrange additional seating and revise the deployment of invigilators accordingly.
4. As it is not feasible to print pre-printed answer booklets (containing student particulars) a day before the examination, blank answer booklets are issued to such students. Therefore, the identification of student(s) using blank answer booklets is not concealed.
5. The use of blank answer booklets creates operational difficulties during various post-examination processes such as collection, coding, bundling, valuation logistics, result processing, and ultimately the declaration of results.
6. Further, the issuance of blank answer booklets carries a potential risk of misuse, which the University examination system cannot afford to accommodate.
Under the above circumstances, it is proposed to withdraw the provision of registration with a late fee of Rs.10,000/-, which presently permits registration just one day before the commencement of examinations. Withdrawal of this provision will facilitate systematic planning and enable DUEX to conduct examinations efficiently without operational disruptions or administrative inconvenience.
In view of the above, the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, JNTUH is accorded permission to the Directorate of University Examinations (DUEX), JNTUH to withdraw the provision of examination registration with a late fee of Rs.10,000/-, which presently permits registration just one day before the commencement of examinations.
