APJAKTU Fixing rate for APJ Abdul Kalam Doctoral Fellowships with effect from Academic Year 2022-23 - Resolution of the Syndicate - Implemented - Orders issued
APJAKTU The Research Fellowship being distributed by the University was established by Centre for Engineering Research and Development (CERD) which was established by the Government of Kerala and the rates of fellowship were fixed by that Centre from time to time.
The University after its establishment had enhanced the rate of CERD PhD fellowship to ₹25000/- per month for all three years of research and contingency grant of ₹20,000/- per year, with effect from 01.03.2016 vide paper read as (2) above.
The Syndicate at its meeting held on 18.02.2022, considered the matter of increasing the number of KTU Research fellowship and allocation of the same among PhD Scholars of the University and had resolved to increase the number of fellowships to 100 numbers per year with effect from 2022-23 admission and the same was implemented vide paper read as (3) above. The Syndicate later approved the norms for distribution of Research Fellowships in the University and was implemented vide paper read as (4) above. As per para 6(a) in Regulations for APJ Abdul Kalam Doctoral Fellowship from Academic Year 2022-23 'The fellowship amount and contingency amount shall be as decided by the Syndicate from time to time.'
The Syndicate vide paper read as (5) above considered the matter of fixing rate for APJ Abdul Kalam Doctoral Fellowships with effect from Academic Year 2022-23 and had resolved to continue with the existing fellowship amount of Rs.25000/- per month and the contingency grant shall be limited to an amount of Rs.10,000/- per year.
Sanction is therefore accorded by the Hon.Vice-Chancellor implementing the resolution of the Syndicate as mentioned above. Orders are issued accordingly.
