The "Regulations governing award of Grace Marks for the students admitted Under Choice Based Credit System" are notified herewith.

These regulations will be applicable to the students admitted to various programs under Visvesvaraya Technological University under Choice Based Credit System.

REGULATIONS GOVERNING AWARD OF GRACE MARKS FOR THE STU DEN TS ADMITTED UNDER CHOICE BASED CREDIT SYSTEM:

15GMR01 :
Gracing marks shall be awarded to a Subject (Theory/Practical/Course /Head of passing) to a maximum of 2% of the maximum marks of that subject (Maximum Internal Marks + Maximum External Marks), if after such gracing, the candidate gets minimum prescribed marks for passing in that subject. Such gracing marks shall be added to the marks scored in the University/Final Exam.

15GMR02 :
A candidate shall be eligible to a maximum of 5 grace marks, if he / she
  • has failed in only one Subject (Theory/Practical/Course /Head of passing), out of all the subjects prescribed for that particular semester examination.
  • gets minimum prescribed marks for pass m that Subject (Theory/ Practical/ Course / Head of passing) by such gracing.
  • passes in all the subjects of that particular examination by such gracing. Provided, none of the other subjects of that semester have already been graced as per 15GMR01.
The grace marks (up to a maximum of 5 marks) are added to the Final/University Examination Marks of that subject, to enable him/her to get just pass marks in that subject.

15GMR03 :
The Grace marks awarded as per 15GMR01 and 15GMR02 is not shown explicitly in the Grade Card/Marks Card/Statement of Marks / Statement of Grades. This Gracing information may be stored in the computer or document to be maintained.

15GMR04 :
A candidate is entitled for grace marks only under any one of the regulations either as per 15GMR01 or 15GMR02.
