The University Innovation Fellows (UIF) program trains students to be leaders at their schools. Fellows create educational offerings to help their peers develop innovative skills and mindsets that will make them more desirable in the job market.
This program is part of the Stanford University's Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (d.school). After running successfully in the U.S. for five years, the program is now taking applications from universities' i n India with support from Google. Fellows receive online training and mentorship from Stanford educators and Silicon Valley thought leaders, and they collaborate with global community students and faculty.
Applications for fellowship are invited twice annually by Stanford University. Candidates go through a rigorous screening process for selection. The selected fellows are sponsored by faculty and administrators as individuals or teams of students. Following acceptance into the program, schools fund the students to go through six weeks of online training and travel to the annual University Innovation Fellows Silicon Valley Meetup in USA. Throughout the year, they take part in events and conferences and have opportunities to learn from one another, Stanford mentors, and leaders in academia and industry. By joining this program, Fellows in India will gain new skills that will benefit them in their careers. Most importantly, they will learn to inspire their peers and make a difference in their community and in the world.
Since VTU is a partner institute of UIF program, our students can avail this opportunity of becoming coveted fellows of UIF. Interested institutes can nominate a team of your students by March 24, 2017, at midnight Eastern Time at universityinnovationfellows.org/apply.
