Osmania University ( OU ) Post-Matric Scholarships to the SC students - Not to insist for prior payment of fee - Reg. Dated on 22nd August 2025
Osmania University - OU Sir/Madam, Vide letter cited, the Commissioner, Scneduled Castes Development Department (SCDD), Govt. of Telangana 2024-2025 has communicated that, as per the new auidelines to sanction post-matric scholarships to the SC students from the year 2024-2025. the entire Tuition fee and Maintenance charges are being sanctioned directly to the SC students, into their Bank Accounts. 40% of scholarships shall de sanctioned by State Govt. and the data shared to Govt. of India for sanction of 60% of scholarships by Govt of India.
Further stated that, representations from the parents / students and local representatives are being received by their office that the College / Institution authorities are insisting on prior payment of fees from the eligible SC students and are creating lots of hardships for the poor SC students.
In view of the above, the Commissioner has requested to issue necessary strict instructions to all the Colleges/Institutions, not to insist prior payment of tuition fee from the eligible SC Students, as it is against the policy of the Government. The fees will be transferred to college by the students as and when the amount is credited into their account, by the State Govt, and Govt. of India. A copy of letter is enclosed herewith.
In light of the above, all the Principals of Campus/Constituent/Affiliated under the jurisdiction of OU are hereby directed not to insist prior payment of fee from the eligible SC students. This is for your information and necessary action.
