UG (non-professional) Courses - Relaxion the rules for Promotion of Students from II Semester to III Semester for one - time as a Special Case for the Academic Year 2017-18
The following are the 'Rules of Promotion' in respect of Under-graduate (non-professional) courses under Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) pattern with effect from 2016-17:
Rule-10A (Rules of Promotion)
a. For a student to be promoted to III Semester, the number of backlogs in I and II taken together should not exceed-50%.
d. For a student to be promoted to V Semester, the number of backlogs in I, II, III, and IV taken together should not exceed 50%.
d. For a student to be promoted to V Semester, the number of backlogs in I, II, III, and IV taken together should not exceed 50%.
Subsequent to the above, in pursuance of the decision taken by the Standing Committee of the .Academic Senate at its 2nd Meeting ( 2017-18) held on 24 October 2017, the Vice-Chancellor, .as a special case accorded certain relaxation in 'Promotion Rules' (Rule-10A as above) pertaining to Under-graduation (non-professional) courses.
Accordingly, the students of Under-graduation (non-professional) courses of the academic year 2016-17, who have failed to pass in 50% of the papers in I and II Semester together (Rule 10A (a)) are promoted to III semester of the academic year 2017-18. As the relaxation is 'One Time' permission , the said students, to be promoted to V Semester are however required to complete 50% of papers, altogether in I, II, III, and IV semester (Rule 10A (d)). You are accordingly requested to publicize the above among all the students of your college.
