KTU The Board of Studies, vide reference 1, recommended to amend the MCA (2 Year) regulation 2020 (clause R6.2) to extend the time period to complete the MOOC courses offered in lieu of the bridge courses to the non IT students as "one MOOC course to be completed before second semester, and the other MOOC course before the completion of fourth semester".
The recommendations of the Board of Studies were placed before the Academic Council, and vide reference 2 the Academic council resolved to amend the clause R6.2 in the MCA (2 Year) regulation 2020 as suggested. The recommendations of the Board of Studies and the resolution of the Academic Council were placed before the Syndicate and vide reference 3 resolved to ratify the resolution of the Academic council to amend the MCA (2 Year) regulation 2020 (clause R6.2) as follows:

Considering the matter in detail, sanction has been accorded by the Vice Chancellor to implement the resolution of the Syndicate to amend the clause R6.2 of the MCA (2 Year) regulation 2020 as mentioned.

| R6.2 | For MCA (2year), University will publish a list of 10 MOOC Courses on IT introductory subjects every year. The first-year students shall enroll and successfully complete minimum of one MOOC course during their first semester and the second MOOC course before completion of their second semester. Submission of "Successful Course Completion Certificate" to the University is mandatory to publish their results of respective semesters. |

| R6.2 | For MCA (2year), The student should successfully complete Two MOOC Courses to be eligible for the award of MCA Degree. The University will publish a list of 10 MOOC Courses in the area of Information Technology at the beginning of every academic year. The students shall enroll and successfully complete at least one MOOC course from this list during their first year (before the second-semester university examinations). The second MOOC course should be completed before the completion of their second year. Second semester results will be published only after the submission of the successful course completion certificate of the first MOOC Course and fourth-semester results will be published only after the submission of the certificate of the second MOOC Course. |
