JNTU-Hyderabad ( JNTUH ) University Examination Branch - Circular on Digilocker service for students along with Procedure
JNTU-Hyderabad ( JNTUH ) In accordance with the UGC / AICTE Guidelines issued, it is to inform all the students / alumni of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) that the University Degree Certificates are being made available through the DigiLocker platform for convenient access to their academic documents in digital form.
DigiLocker is a flagship initiative of Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) under Digital India programme. DigiLocker aims at ‘Digital Empowerment’ of citizen by providing access to authentic digital documents to citizen’s digital document wallet. The issued documents in DigiLocker system are deemed to be at par with original physical documents as per Rule 9A of the Information Technology (Preservation and Retention of Information by Intermediaries providing Digital Locker facilities) Rules, 2016 notified on February 8, 2017 vide G.S.R. 711(E). DigiLocker aims at promoting Paperless Governance by issuing authentic digital documents issued by various issuers to citizens’ locker account. DigiLocker system is hosted in NIC National Data Centre in Delhi and Pune. As of today majority of State/UT Education Boards are providing digital educational certificates from DigiLocker. Additionally other agencies such as NIOS, NSDC and NCVT are also providing digital skills certificates via DigiLocker.
The availability of academic certificates through DigiLocker provides students with convenient access to their documents whenever required, without the need to carry physical copies. Students may make use of DigiLocker for accessing their academic documents for various purposes, including higher education, employment, document verification and other official requirements, subject to acceptance by the respective organization/institution.
Procedure to Fetch JNTUH University Degree Certificate : Students are advised to follow the steps given in the pdf file titled “DigiLocker_fetch_document_Procedure” (enclosed).
Note : Students are further advised to verify the details of the certificate after fetching the document and to keep their DigiLocker account credentials, OTP and Security PIN confidential.
