JNTU-Hyderabad ( JNTUH ) The University established a separate Directorate of Academic Audit Cell to look after all academic matters related to affiliated colleges in 2008. This Directorate was responsible for conducting inspections, monitoring academic standards, and ensuring that the colleges followed University guidelines.
Later, based on the resolution of the 65th meeting of the Executive Council held on 25.05.2023, the Academic Audit Cell was divided into two separate Directorates to improve focus and efficiency.
Recently, the University issued orders to merge three existing Directorates namely, the Directorate of Affiliation & Academic Audit (DAAF), Directorate of Innovation & Skill Development (DISD), and Directorate of UGC Affairs into a single unified unit vide Univ. Procs. (4) read above subject to the approval of the Executive Council. The reason for this merger is that the existing fragmented structure has led to increased administrative workload and costs, such as additional manpower requirements, vehicle usage, and infrastructure maintenance.
In light of this, the Vice-Chancellor is pleased to order the merger of the two Directorates of DAAA and DACA into a single consolidated unit as was in the previous, designated as the "Directorate of Academic Audit Cell", bringing back the original name that was used before the 2021 restructuring, subject to ratification by the Executive Council.
