JNTUH Implementation of student Innovation and startup policy

JNTUH The Executive Council of the University has approved the introduction of the student startup policy from the ensuing academic year. This will be in line with the National Innovation Startup Policy (NISP) framework of MHRD.

The policy is intended to support student led innovations and tech startup incubation. The key feature of the policy include

1. Course credits for the students permitted for entrepreneurial and startup activities.
Under Student Startup policy to earn course credits for their Innovation/ Entrepreneurial works.
(i)Students are allowed to take up their mini / major project in an incubator (University/College/Govt Recognized).

(ii) They shall take prior approval of such proposals from the mini/major project committee of the college and satisfy all requirements of the mini/major project such as project reviews and project report submission etc to earn credits as per the University regulations.

(iii) The student can opt to present their Innovation/ Startup idea/ Patent Draft for Seminar/ Technical paper writing components as per the course structure and earn credits as per the University regulations.
