JNTUH Concessions to Physically challenged students

JNTU-Hyderabad ( JNTUH ) I am to inform that Govt. of India enacted "Persons with Disabilites (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995" in which it is stated that Person with disability means a person suffering from not less than forty percentage of any disability as certified by a medical authority.

Further vide letter No11-1/CCD/2010/R1909 dated 12-02-2011 Deputy Chief Commissioner, Office of the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilites, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi has requested the Secretayr, UGC to circulate for considering to provide following concessions/facilities for students with disabilities in addition to 3% reservations of seats in all Universities:

1. Waiver of fee
2. Electric Wheelchair at the mess and library
3. Free accommodation, food and transport

Further i am to inform that the Government issued orders vide reference cited that the minimum percentage of disability shall be 40% of any kind of disability as certified by the medical authorith to apply for facilites, concessions and benefits admissible under the schemes of Government or Non-Governmental organizations.

Therefore I request that kindly to take appropriate action in order to provide free boarding and lodging facilities to all the persons with disabilities who shall have minimum 40% of disability in the university hostels and also exempt them from payment of examination fee.
