JNTUA Guidelines to Conduct Viva Voce Exam and Extension of Duration for Ph.D / M.Phil / M.S Programs

JNTU-Anantapur (JNTUA) This is to inform that vide ref (1) above, UGC has given guidelines on Examination and Academic Calendar in view of COVID-19 Pandemic. It is hereby brought to the notice of all the concerned that the guidelines for conduct of Ph.D and M.Phil/M.S Viva - Voce examinations and extension period for Ph.D and M.Phil/M.S students have been given below:

1. The Ph.D. and M.Phil/M.S viva - voce examinations can be conducted through video conferencing using any reliable and mutually convenient technology, subject to the approval of the concerned statutory authority (Director R&D) of the university. While conducting the viva voce examination through video conferencing using electronic means, it may be ensured that it will be open to the members of research advisory committee, faculty members of the department, research scholars and other interested experts /researchers besides the Research Supervisor and Expert(s)/Examiner(s) as applicable. It is also imperative on the part of the H.O.D concerned and Viva Voce committee to maintain due video record of the viva -voce examination, including the report signed by Expert(s)/Examiner(s) appointed for conducting the viva - voce examination and the same may be submitted to the University.

2. The M.Phil/M.S or Ph.D. students whose maximum period for submission of Dissertation/Thesis prescribed under relevant rules/regulations/ ordinances of the university is expired/expiring during the COVID-19 pandemic period, will be allowed to submit their dissertation/Thesis, including completion of pending formalities within six months from the date of expiry of the maximum prescribed period without any fee.
