APJAKTU University order - Awarding of Grace marks to differently abled students - Implementation of RPDW Act, 2016 - enclosed
APJAKTU Vide paper read as (2) above, the Academic Council of the University considered the matter of validity of Medical Certificates issued by various Medical Boards of the Taluk Head Quarters Hospital or District Hospital and UDID, as a prerequisite for the awarding of Grace marks for disability
As per the University Order read first above, the Disability certificate produced by the students for granting Grace marks should be issued by the District Medical Board. It is seen that most of the students are producing certificates issued by the Taluk Head Quarters(THQ) Hospital or District Hospital that have the title "Standing Disability Assessment Board Certificate". It was also informed that the Government of India has started the project for issuing Unique IDs for Persons with Disabilities, with a view of creating a National Database for Persons with Disabilities, and issuing a Unique Disability Identity card, to every person with disabilities. Hence it necessitates modifications in the conditions for the awarding of Grace marks, to differently-abled students.
