Numerous representations have been received by Anna University from several students seeking permission to appear for arrear examinations after exhausting maximum period of time allowed in the respective regulations for completing their programme.
In this context, it is informed that the Syndicate of Anna University, in its 252nd Meeting held on 09-05-2019, resolved to permit the students who have exhausted their permitted maximum period (as per their respective Regulations), to appear for their examinations again as a special case on humanitarian grounds during November / December 2019 and April / May 2020. Further, the students have been advised to utilize these two chances with utmost care and diligence, since this is the final and last chance provided by the University.
The following categories of students have been permitted by the Syndicate to appear for the special examinations.
Category 1: Students of University Departments of Anna University, Chennai admitted on or after Academic Year 2000 (both UG & PG under Full Time & Part Time Mode).
Category 2: Students of Affiliated Colleges of Anna University admitted in the Academic year 2001-2002 (3rd semester onwards) (i.e. students transferred from the State Universities of Tamil Nadu) & 2002-2003 (1st semester onwards) and currently in Autonomous Institutions including Distance Education Programmes offered by Anna University.
The other details in this regard will be provided in the web-portal of Anna University for the students of Affiliated Colleges by 2nd week of June 2019. Separate Notifications will be published for the students of the University Departments by the O/o the Additional Controller of Examinations (University Departments) and for the students of Autonomous Institutions by the O/o the Controller of Examinations of the respective Autonomous Institutions.
